Just to get this out of the way and it's important: your domain name violates the WordPress trademark and that's not cool.

I love the ecard gallery; what I don't like is that the whole site shifts to a single image when you click on a thumbnail image.

I think you mean that when you click on the gallery image the attachment page get's loaded. Try editing your gallery and make the Gallery Settings link to Media File instead of attachment page.

Once that's done try using a lightbox plugin to make the image handle the way you want.
