I tried to look through the forum to see if there was a problem similar to mine.
I use Dreamhost as my hosting site.
Okay, so I have to redo a whole website. The site exists, but I'm supposed to redo it from the ground up. So, the first thing I did was go into Dreamhost, make the domain and download Wordpress to it. Done.
Second, the site was not on Dreamhost or Wordpress yet. So, I waited for the previous designer to transfer me the domain. Now I have the ftp information etc. I'm also able to view the site through Dreamhost and it's under the domain name I made for it.
Third, I bought a Wordpress template from Elegant Themes and as I was about to try and go to (website)/wp-login.php or wp-admin.php I get the 404 error. I go back to Dreamhost to see if Wordpress was installed. It says it is.
I must note that the site was not created in Wordpress. I want to terminate what is there and use the template to recreate the site.
