Hi, I am trying to get a Wordpress site running for a school. The site is a real mess, it has been created using dreamweaver and has lots of old files, previous versions of the site etc etc. I want to just get wordpress onto the main site and then work on it. I have installed wordpress into a sub directory, eg http://www.siteaddress/Wordpress and then copied using FTP the files over to the root directory (public_html) I have also changed the index.php file as per other support forums. None of this works, I am still seeing the old site.
I was wondering whether to just delete the whole lot (old and new) and re install wordpress. Would this work or do I need to keep some of the existing files.
